The Patternmaker, one of the main professional figure in Fashion companies, must be able to interpret proportions, shapes and volumes of the items of a collection. The Patternmaker is the link between the creative department and the industrialization of a product and must have such qualities and skills to produce prototypes in line with the philosophy of the Collection.
The aim of the Course is to provide attendees with technical/practical knowledge in order to elaborate menswear garments maintaining the wearability of the items, paying attention to consumption and to the business requirements.
At the end of the course students will be able to realize sewing patterns based on fashion trends, to make wearability tests and participate in the creation of a prototype in order to guarantee the industrialization of it.
Students must have a High – School Diploma or a professional qualification.
A good knowledge of the Italian language is required for foreign students.
Bologna: 12 lessons on Saturday (8 hours daily)
Ancona: 16 lessons on Friday (6 hours daily)
Students will receive teaching handouts for each course along with paper, cardboard and a kit of useful tools for patternmaking classes such as :a set square, a bradawl and a tape measure.

1) EU Citizens and Switzerland Citizens: a copy of Identity Card ; n. 1 digital passport photo; a copy of diploma or self – certification; a copy of Social Security Number (SSN) /Tax Code.
2) NON EU Citizens: a passport copy and a Student Visa; n. 1 digital passport photo; a copy of the Social Security Number (SSN) / Tax Code.
Chart of body proportions (Body measurements) and introduction to anatomy;
project of basic models :
single breasted 2 -buttoned jacket ;
standard sleeve and 3-piece sleeve;
buttoned jacket with burberry’s collar;
operating procedure to transform a drawing into a pattern, regarding:
breast welt pocket, patch pocket , main and breast canvas, front and back edge seam, lining;
double-breasted sports jacket, double use collar;
full sleeve for sports jacket;
2- piece sleeve with centre seam;
plain sports jacket with stand – up collar;
full sleeve with deep armhole for sports jacket;
single – breasted waistcoat ;
classic double-breasted overcoat ;
wearability concept and its applications;
basic apparel corrections: causes and effects.
