Summer courses represent an excellent opportunity to enhance one’s career and enrich one’s study plan with parallel and complementary disciplines, useful for completing a well-rounded education, as today’s market requires. Being knowledgeable and operational within the production workflow means
holding a dynamic position and, above all, facilitating professional advancement.
Accessories—particularly handbags—represent a significant segment within the fashion industry.
Long regarded as desirable and beloved fashion items, they are sometimes even considered investment pieces.
Understanding production dynamics and workflow provides every creative professional with an essential educational foundation from which to begin designing collections.
The Accessories course is designed for those who wish to quickly enter the world of handbags and small leather goods. It provides the fundamental skills needed to design and create this type of accessory, starting from the initial sketch through to the development of the final prototype.
In the preliminary phases, students begin with the study of the History of Accessories and Costume and analyze the target market. They will learn how to select materials by examining their intrinsic characteristics and unique features. They will also work on color boards and metallic finishes, all supported by the study of trends and market influences.
Graphic and creative development will be essential in moving to the next stage—the model/prototype phase—where construction techniques will be illustrated, along with the final presentation stages, which are crucial for this type of product.
