WARHOL HARING BASQUIAT – Art, Music and Fashion

curated by Next Exhibition near Belloni Palace Bologna, and we had spoken to you about it here.

Throughout the day, seven mannequins displaying seven scenic looks will be exhibited, accompanied by moodboards featuring images, text, and textural elements. During the evening, special opening from 20:00 to 23:00 (with last entry at 22:00) with two models wearing the outfits inspired by the eras of Warhol, Haring and Basquiat.

Specifically, the colours, silhouettes and patterns of the most iconic works will be reinterpreted in a contemporary key, in a styling game that tells the story of the different themes and personal artistic visions.

Following Warhol, the Next Generation of Next Fashion School focused on the concept of “repetition” and ironic seriality combined with the saturated colours of the multimedia world; for Haring, the focus was on his artistic approach based on elementary forms and the use of cartoon colours, with iridescent bomber jackets mixed with pop colours and iconic prints from the music and television worlds; for Basquiat, through the remixing of clothing, the theme of graffiti art—which evolved into writing in the 1990s—is addressed, along with his anti-conformism, playing aesthetically, through an ironic play on words, with the concept of ‘anti-form“ by negating the body's shapes through oversized silhouettes and soft lines.

There will be no shortage of aesthetic reinterpretations of the Studio 54/Club 57 context by recreating the style of famous figures who frequented these venues: from the more underground looks featuring Madonna's dark skin tones and studs at the time of her song “Like a Virgin” to the more colourful and eccentric style of Disco Music with leotards, fishnet tights, iridescent fabrics and rhinestones.
