Next at Fashion Graduate Italia 2022

3 to 5 November 2022 — BASE Milano. Theme: "hereandnow"

Fashion Graduate Italia 2022 and Next Fashion School

It has come to an end’2022 edition of Fashion Graduate Italy, the first and only free fashion week with public access, organised by the Association Fashion Educational System Platform, of which Next Fashion School is part, dedicated to the best graduating and graduated students from Italian fashion academies, institutes, and schools.

It was held over the past few days 3-5 November 2022, al Base of Milan; for this edition too, the format was phygital, a mix of physical and digital events, across three days of live fashion shows streamed on the official website of Fashion Graduate Italy, exhibitions, talks, masterclasses, workshops/lectures and job placement.

The official title is FashionGraduateItalia2022|Stay Curious! because curiosity is the fuel of creative minds, the stimulus behind the most successful designs and the energy that must never be lacking when talking about fashion.

Next Generation Lab - the selected Next Generation group - presented 9 capsule collections, developing and interpreting the concept of “#hereandnow”; we had the pleasure of meeting you at our exhibition space in the booths area in which the outfits of ... were a huge hit Federica Alessi who walked the runway at AltaRoma with CNA Federmoda.

Thank you to everyone who made the 2022 edition of Fashion Graduate Italia so special and emotional, for the invaluable contribution of: students, teachers, Next staff, organisation/Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda and Fashion Graduate staff, participating schools, audience!

CARIFIA, the Next Fashion School project for sustainability

“FASHION SCHOOL FOR DESIGN – DRIVEN SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION in collaboration with C.L.A.S.S.

Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda Ente del Terzo Settore, on the occasion of Fashion Graduate Italia 2022, presented a project in strategic partnership and with the support of the international eco-hub C.L.A.S.S. (Creativity, Lifestyle And Sustainable Synergy) dedicated to students of the fashion schools that took part in the event.

The “Fashion Schools for design – driven sustainable innovation” project involved students in a training pathway ranging from the design to the creation of an outfit according to a responsible approach that starts with design, moves on to the choice of sustainable materials provided by some of the hub's partner companies, and culminates in reflection on the communication of their project.

The students’ creations (co-ordinated by Olivia Spinelli and Camilla Carrara) took centre stage in a special exhibition in a dedicated area for the entire duration of the event.

With the project “Fashion Schools for designer driven sustainable innovation”, C.L.A.S.S. and Fashion Graduate Italia wish to promote an innovative dialogue between fashion and sustainability that places the new generations of designers at the centre, along with the sharing of educational pathways to guide them towards new value-driven paths.

Federica Alessi and Sofia Ricci have created CARIFIA for Next Fashion School.

CARIFIA is a combination of letters from the names of the two creatives - Federica Alessi and Sofia Ricci - who represent the Next Generation for the project FASHION SCHOOLS for DESIGN-DRIVEN SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION, promoted by Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda together with C.L.A.S.S. and included in Fashion Graduate 2022.

It is the name of a virtual planet, located within the Metaverse, that will help the inhabitants of Earth to reprogram themselves, re-educate themselves and return to a state of symbiosis with nature and the environment; CARIFIA is the digital place where one trains to love the real planet Earth in order to live in sustainability and love for the cradle that created us.

Carifia features the warm colours of earthy tones and the blue hues of the sky and water; life here follows a pace suited to people, lived with respect for our surroundings, where balance and stability become essential elements. The outfit is functional and unrestrictive; it protects and facilitates a practical way of life in harmony with the colours of the environment.

Carifia is a tool designed to help and support the Earth.

Carifia’s garments have been made using fabrics supplied by the companies Berto and Brunello.
